Women's Health
Personal, thoughtful care for women at every stage of life -from pregnancy and postnatal recovery to menopause, surgery and living with complex or long-term health conditions.

Your Health Deserves to Be Heard
Every woman has her own health story. Some are straightforward. Others involve years of symptoms, unanswered questions, difficult diagnoses or the exhausting feeling that something isn't right, even when no clear explanation has been offered.
Too many women have experienced being told that their pain is normal, their symptoms are simply hormonal or that there is little more that can be done.
I have heard these stories repeatedly throughout my years in practice. Women who have struggled to find answers, who feel their concerns have been minimised, or who have learned to live with discomfort because they no longer know where to turn.
My own experience of living with a chronic health condition has shaped how I understand these challenges. I know how important it is to be listened to, to have your concerns taken seriously and to feel that someone is looking beyond individual symptoms.
This is why women's health holds such a personal and important place in my work.
I believe good care begins with listening, understanding your individual circumstances and recognising that your physical health, emotional wellbeing and everyday life are closely connected.
A Commitment to Understanding Women's Health
Women's health is complex, and many conditions can affect far more than one part of the body.
My osteopathic dissertation focused on endometriosis, a condition that can have a profound impact on daily life and is still associated with significant delays in diagnosis for many women. This work deepened my interest in persistent pelvic pain, gynaecological conditions and the wider challenges women face when seeking appropriate healthcare.
I also have a particular interest in autoimmune conditions, which disproportionately affect women. Living with an autoimmune or other chronic condition can involve pain, fatigue, fluctuating symptoms and uncertainty, often requiring care from several healthcare professionals.
My role is not to replace specialist medical treatment. It is to consider how osteopathy, appropriate hands-on therapies, medical acupuncture and nutritional guidance may help support your comfort, movement and wellbeing alongside your existing healthcare.
Women's health is also an area in which I continue to undertake further professional training and education. Medicine and our understanding of women's health are constantly evolving, and I believe that providing thoughtful care means remaining curious, questioning established assumptions and continuing to learn.
Supporting You Through Different Stages of Life
Your needs can change considerably throughout your life. Treatment should reflect those changes rather than follow the same approach for everyone.
Menstrual Health and Gynaecological Concerns
Support for women experiencing persistent discomfort, musculoskeletal tension or pain associated with conditions such as endometriosis and other gynaecological concerns.
I consider how pain may affect movement, sleep, physical comfort and daily activities, while recognising the importance of appropriate medical investigation and specialist care.
Pregnancy
Pregnancy brings significant physical changes, and some women experience back pain, pelvic discomfort, muscular tension or difficulties finding comfortable ways to move and rest.
Osteopathy and appropriately adapted massage may help manage some of these symptoms, with treatment tailored to your stage of pregnancy, medical history and comfort.
Postnatal Recovery
Recovery after childbirth is individual, whether you have had a vaginal birth or a Caesarean section.
Care may focus on back and pelvic discomfort, muscular tension, movement, recovery from the physical demands of pregnancy and birth, or discomfort associated with a healed Caesarean scar.
There is no expectation that your body should recover according to a particular timetable.
Perimenopause and Menopause
Hormonal changes during perimenopause and menopause can coincide with changes in sleep, energy, muscular and joint comfort, and overall wellbeing.
I offer an individualised approach that considers your symptoms, lifestyle and health history, using appropriate treatments to support comfort and physical function alongside medical menopause care where needed.
Surgery and Scar Recovery
Surgery can leave lasting changes in how an area feels and moves, even after the wound has healed.
Scar therapy may help address sensitivity, tightness and restricted movement associated with healed scars following Caesarean sections, gynaecological or abdominal procedures, and other operations.
Treatment considers both the scar and the surrounding tissues, always taking account of your healing history.
Persistent Pain and Autoimmune Conditions
Living with a long-term condition can affect far more than your physical symptoms. Pain, fatigue, disturbed sleep and uncertainty can influence work, relationships and everyday life.
Where appropriate, treatment may help manage associated musculoskeletal discomfort, improve ease of movement and provide an opportunity for relaxation.
Care is adapted to your condition, symptoms and energy levels, and can be provided alongside treatment from your GP, consultant or other healthcare professionals.
How Can I Help?
At Marylebone House, I can offer several approaches to care, depending on your symptoms, preferences and individual needs.
Osteopathy
Clinical assessment and individualised hands-on treatment, particularly for pain, movement difficulties and musculoskeletal concerns. This may include gentle techniques, movement advice and support for managing persistent discomfort.
Specialist Massage
Carefully adapted massage techniques that may help ease muscular tension, support relaxation and improve comfort. Treatment is selected with your health history and any medical conditions in mind.
Medical Acupuncture
An additional option for managing certain types of pain and musculoskeletal discomfort. Medical acupuncture can be booked independently or incorporated into osteopathic treatment where appropriate but is not combined with massage treatments.
Nutritional Advice
Personalised dietary guidance, primarily informed by Traditional Chinese Medicine principles alongside Western nutritional science. This can be particularly valuable when eating habits, nutritional needs or conflicting dietary advice have become difficult to navigate.
Scar Therapy
Gentle hands-on treatment for healed scars and surrounding tissues where sensitivity, tightness or restricted movement are affecting comfort or everyday activities.
Why Hands-On Treatment Can Be Helpful
Persistent pain and long-term health conditions can affect how the body moves, responds to touch and experiences everyday activities.
Research suggests that some manual therapies can help reduce certain types of pain and may support relaxation and reduce anxiety. Gentle hands-on treatment can also offer an opportunity to feel more comfortable and less physically tense.
Pain is influenced by many factors, including the nervous system, previous experiences, sleep, stress and underlying medical conditions. For this reason, treatment is not simply about working on the area that hurts.
I consider your symptoms in the context of your wider health and adapt treatment to what feels appropriate for you.
The aim is to help you manage symptoms, improve day-to-day comfort and support your quality of life -without suggesting that manual therapy can cure conditions such as endometriosis or autoimmune disease.
Your Care, Your Choice
You may already know which treatment you would like to book. You are welcome to choose an individual service, whether that is osteopathy, specialist massage, medical acupuncture or nutritional advice.
Alternatively, we can discuss a personalised package of care, combining suitable services across separate appointments according to your needs and preferences.
If you are unsure where to begin, you do not need to decide in advance.
You can book an initial consultation, where we will take time to discuss your health history, symptoms, concerns and goals. I will explain which approaches may be appropriate, and together we can decide on a plan that makes sense for you.
There is no standard programme that every woman needs to follow. Some people benefit from a particular treatment; others may prefer a broader approach or care that changes over time.
You remain involved in every decision about your treatment.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need a diagnosis before booking?
Not necessarily. You may be experiencing symptoms that have not yet been fully explained. An initial consultation can help identify whether osteopathic assessment or supportive treatment is appropriate, and whether further medical investigation or referral should be considered.
Can you help if I have endometriosis?
I have a particular professional interest in endometriosis, which was the subject of my osteopathic dissertation. While osteopathy and other complementary treatments do not treat the underlying endometriosis itself, selected approaches may help some people manage associated muscular discomfort, movement difficulties or persistent pain alongside specialist medical care.
Do you work with women who have autoimmune conditions?
Yes, where treatment is appropriate to the individual condition and circumstances. My interest is in helping manage associated symptoms such as musculoskeletal discomfort and tension, while respecting the importance of ongoing medical treatment. Recommendations depend on your diagnosis, current symptoms and medical history.
Is treatment suitable during pregnancy or after childbirth?
Osteopathy and appropriately adapted massage can be suitable during pregnancy and postnatal recovery, depending on your circumstances. I will assess your health history, stage of pregnancy or recovery, and any relevant precautions before recommending treatment.
Can you help with Caesarean or other surgical scars?
Scar therapy may be appropriate once the wound has healed sufficiently. Treatment focuses on discomfort, sensitivity, tightness and mobility in the scar and surrounding tissues, rather than attempting to remove the scar.
Can I combine different treatments?
Yes. We can plan a series of appointments using different services where this would be helpful and appropriate. Medical acupuncture may also be incorporated into an osteopathy appointment, but it is not combined with massage.
What if I don't know which treatment I need?
Book an initial consultation. We can discuss your symptoms and health history, consider the available options and decide together on the most appropriate next steps.
A Place Where Your Story Matters
I created Marylebone House because I believe women deserve healthcare that takes their experiences seriously.
Whether you are navigating pregnancy, recovering from surgery, adjusting to menopause, managing a chronic condition or simply trying to understand why you don't feel quite yourself, you deserve time, attention and clear communication.
I cannot promise to have every answer. But I can promise to listen carefully, take your concerns seriously and approach your care with clinical knowledge, curiosity and genuine commitment.
Your health deserves to be heard.
