Posture Correction

A practical, individual approach to movement, comfort and managing posture-related concerns.

Posture Correction

What Is Posture Correction?

There is no such thing as perfect posture.

Our bodies are remarkably adaptable, and the way we stand, sit and move develops in response to our work, habits, activities and individual anatomy.

Having rounded shoulders, an uneven stance or a particular spinal shape does not automatically mean something is wrong.

At Marylebone House, posture correction is not about forcing your body into an ideal position or changing how you look. It is about understanding your movement patterns and addressing discomfort, pain or limitations when they affect everyday life.

How Does It Work?

Your appointment begins with a detailed body and movement assessment. I consider your symptoms, daily activities, work environment and the movements that may be contributing to discomfort.

Where appropriate, treatment may include osteopathic mobilisation, soft tissue techniques and other hands-on approaches to address painful or restricted areas.

An important part of your care is a tailored exercise programme designed around your needs, abilities and goals.

The focus is on improving comfort, movement options and physical confidence rather than maintaining one supposedly correct position.

  • Assessment of posture-related pain and discomfort

  • Support for pain, tension and discomfort throughout the body.

  • Improved awareness of movement habits

Who Is It For?

This treatment may be helpful if you experience discomfort while working at a desk, standing for long periods, exercising or carrying out repetitive activities.

It may also suit people who feel stiff, restricted or uncomfortable in certain positions.

You do not need to have visibly poor posture to benefit. Equally, an unusual posture does not necessarily require correction if it causes no problems.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to sit or stand perfectly straight?

No. The body benefits from movement and variety. There is no single ideal posture that everyone should maintain.

Will I receive exercises to do at home?

Yes. Your programme will be based on your assessment and designed to fit your daily life.
